Our Dearest Supporters,2017 has been a big year for New York On Tech (NYOT). An idea that bloomed out of passion on a pile of Starbucks napkins has grown into an award winning organization. In the 2017 - 2018 school year, NYOT will work with 500+ students across programs, 50+ high schools across all five boroughs including Yonkers, 100+ technology volunteers and 30+ companies and foundations who have joined our mission to prepare the next generation of technology leaders.
At NYOT, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to compete fairly for the opportunities of today and tomorrow. When we think about the young people we serve, we know that when given the resources to succeed, they thrive and not only create pathways for themselves, but for others in their communities. Our hope is that NYOT can be a catalyst in introducing them to their potential and the potential they have to change the world with the skills they are acquiring in our programs. We want to sincerely acknowledge those of you who have shared their time, talent and treasure with us. Your commitment is everything. Thanks for your support. |
Why We're Here

Only 1% of the 1MM NYC students receive a computing and information related education.
76% of NYC students are eligible for free and/or reduced price lunch.
Less than 26% of the technology and computing workforce is comprised of women.
Less than 15% of the technology workforce across technical and non-technical roles are Black or Latino.

Tech Flex Leader (Class of 2017) ConsenSys Internship (Summer 2017) Computer Science, SUNY University at Buffalo (Class of 2021) "My life has been impacted in more ways than one. NYOT introduced me to countless new opportunities when it comes to the world of technology. The skills I learned during my time as a Tech Flex Leader are invaluable, and have really given me an edge on my peers at college. With regards to my internship at ConsenSys, I attained valuable knowledge of cryptocurrency and how it can change the world. If it weren’t for NYOT, I don’t think I’d be where I am now."

Tech Flex Leader (Class of 2017), PureWow Internship (Summer 2017) Computer Engineering, SUNY New Paltz (Class of 2021) "The most important thing I received from NYOT was not my internship as a software engineer. It was the confidence, the perspective, and the competitive head start I developed over the course of the program and my internship. By having completed a professional engineering project, I was able to enter college knowing that I could complete with my peers, despite being only one of two black freshmen majoring in Computer Engineering at my college."
